FHA denial rates by lender, for borrowers like you

Same federal program, same year: lenders denied FHA applications at very different rates. Pick the cohort that looks like your application and see every lender with at least 100 decisions in it. Nothing here is ranked, highlighted or recommended; the table is alphabetical, and that is a rule of the product, not a style choice (why).

What this table is and is not. It is the 2025 federal HMDA record (CFPB), FHA forward loans that reached a credit decision, reverse mortgages excluded, cut by state, loan-amount band and purpose, and counted per lender. Rates reflect who applied to each lender as much as how each lender decided, and the cohort here does not include your credit profile, income or property. It is not a prediction that you will be approved or denied anywhere, not a recommendation of any lender, and not evidence that any lender did anything wrong. Two product rules are enforced in code and tested on every change: every qualifying lender is listed and the order is alphabetical, never by rate; and this caveat appears on every cohort in the same size. FinanceRateCalc takes no money from lenders and sells no leads.

Where this comes from

Built by scripts/door_report_cells.py from the CFPB file in a hosted workflow; the data file records the input file's SHA-256 and the code commit. The same record, counted the other ways, is on the top-100 lender table, the state pages and the door-effect analysis. Method: methodology. Corrections: corrections log. CC BY 4.0.
